Not wanting to travel all the way to Brooklyn, you would not believe my shock when I discovered a board game cafe in Midtown Manhattan! After paying, you and your friends can eat (cost separate) and play for up to 3 hours! They have tons of classics such as CATAN, Sorry, Candy Land, and Taboo. However, they also have unique and uncommon games such as Haiclue, Daybreak, and Telestrations. My advice: definitely come early! Tables and seats are limited to a first-come-first-serve basis. You should also plan ahead of what you want to do. Some of these games take an hour or two, while others are fast a couple of minutes. Nonetheless, have fun and check out their shop section where you can buy some of the games too.

My family and I were able to get a table and buy some drinks and spend several hours playing games. We played Ticket to Ride, Guess Who, and Cards Against Humanity. The staff was also helpful with their beer recommendations as I was unfamiliar with the brands and drinks. The vibe was great, lots of people taking time to play with friends and enjoy their Sunday night. It is a great spot to meet up and enjoy spending time with your friends!

I really liked it! My friends and I go crazy for board games, this was a really nice place for 10 dollars per person for 3 hours. The workers are very very nice, they were clear, helpful and immediately explained the rules and everything. They were active and the games were very organized. You also have a lot of option to even buy the games. There were 1 floor to ceiling wall of playable games and 3 walls and displays of buyable games. Not kid friendly though, a lot of adults males playing role play boardgames (the ones that are long, takes 1-3 hours to play and require a lot of experience). Loved the experience I will be returning The bad reviews about the broken AC did not occur for us, the rooms were nicely aired and it was completely normal. I recommend going around 11-12, after it might get busy.

This place is a hidden gem. A small hybrid bar/cafe with an endless selection of board games as it’s main attraction. There’s nothing better than going with a few friends and losing track of time over a game of Uno or monopoly. Very queer and nerd friendly environment, too.

This was such an amazing date day activity. We had so much fun here. It's right down the block from the park so it can be a 2 part date thing. They had so many games to choose from and the staff were super helpful. Especially the guy with the mustache he was really nice and suggested really great games to play we spent like 3hrs here. They also have a kosher eating game that you won't regret trying wink

This place is a true NY gem! I had previously visited but completely forgot to share my experience. As I was passing by through the neighborhood and had some time to spare I went in and Cooper took care of me. He had helped me pick this awesome game for a Friendsgiving and this time I had to thank him for guiding me with that choice. This place has any board game you could think of and the atmosphere is very friendly and welcoming. Please visit and bring friends to share yummy snacks and possibly challenge those friendships

I recently started coming here with my friend at LEAST once a month and came in last night with a group for a last minute get together for my birthday! I cannot stress this enough, the customer service has been phenomenal every. single. time. And I’ve been there enough times to kind of see the rotation of employees so to get this amazing customer service no matter who’s working says so much about this friendly environment. Last night our group wanted to play UNO but it wasn’t available at the time (a different group was playing it) one of the employees said she would try her best to find it for us and then did an excellent job at suggesting other game options! Our group was super impressed at the group game recommendations and I will still be hyping this place for the rest of my life so thank you to The Uncommons team!
